Ewon leads MINDET working visit to South Korea

KOTA KINABALU: Deputy Chief Minister III of Sabah, who is also the Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET), Datuk Ewon Benedick, is leading the ministry’s working visit to South Korea for a trade and investment mission.


Ewon will hold four separate meetings with South Korean companies to promote Sabah’s industrial parks and to discuss potential investments in the state.


The meetings will take place at the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) office in Seoul.


Ewon will also officiate the Sabah Pavilion at the Seoul Food & Hotel Expo 2026, where MINDET has sent eight Sabah-based entrepreneurial firms to participate.


He will accept an invitation from SK Nexilis to tour their manufacturing plant and will hold discussions with the company’s senior management.


He will also pay a courtesy call and meet the Malaysian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Dato Mohd Zamruni Khalid.


Also accompanying the working visit are the MINDET Permanent Secretary, the General Manager of SEDCO, the Chief Executive Officer of KKIP and the Chief Executive Officer of Invest Sabah.
